This Nebraska Department of Revenue seminar will benefit officers and members of all organizations and retailers who make sales to organizations that have received a nonprofit designation (501C) from the IRS. It will also be helpful for preparers who work for these entities. Topics covered will include: Exempt status for income tax purposes vs. exempt status for sales tax purposes; Sales and Use tax consequences for purchases made by exempt entities and their members; Donations to the exempt entity; Sales made by exempt organizations, including auctions; and Special events and fundraisers. There will be time for attendees to ask questions and get answers. No materials are provided for the class. Participants are requested to print a copy of the presentation found at www.revenue.ne.gov.
