Course Description

Think like a Mechanical Engineer as you recreate Leonardo da Vinci's 15th Century Catapult using Inventor, Autodesk's 3D CAD design software. Inventor is a tool mechanical engineer's use to design ideas, visualize concepts, and simulate how designs will perform in the real world. Students will apply critical-thinking in both self-directed and team environments and unlock their creative potential with 3D mechanical design tools. Students will: " Measure existing parts using scales and calipers " Create a 3D computer-generated model of the catapult using Autodesk Inventor " Assemble and stimulate movement of catapult parts " Build the catapult kit Students have access to free 3-year license of Inventor.
